How I Work With Young People
Are you a young person ready to start therapy? Be proud, that's a brave choice.
Here's a bit more about how therapy with me will look.
You're In Charge
I will mostly be led by you and what you want/need out of the session. There is no pressure to do anything you don't want to do, to talk about things you aren't ready to talk about, or to talk about what you think you 'should' be talking about! I will offer suggestions and guidance as we go, but therapy is your space to talk about or do whatever you like. As long as we are all physically and emotionally safe, anything goes.
CATT Trauma Therapy looks a bit different, and I will take more of a lead for parts of the process.
No Words Needed!
Creative therapy is about expressing ourselves using lots of different methods. If you don't feel like talking, that's fine by me! We can draw, play a game, use clay or the sand tray to make yourself heard, and I will be listening!
Even if you choose online therapy, we can still use all sorts of things that don't need you to talk. We just have to be a bit more creative; and luckily, that's sort of my thing!
Unique To You
My approach will be completely built around you. I don't make any assumptions or set any expectations of you. You can be free to be completely yourself and express yourself authentically. I adapt sessions based on your age, your development (how you're growing and maturing) your history and what's happening for you in the present. No two therapy sessions are the same!
